SWPSA has received and accepted
an invitation for the Under 18 Boys and Girls teams to take part in the Tri
Series Tournament to be held in Sydney, Australia from 16th to
21st December 2013.
The teams will each play 3 test matches against
Australia and New Zealand during the tournament.
Team selection will take place
during trials to be held in September in Cape Town (after the SACS Festival). A
National training camp will also be held in August, the venue to be confirmed.
Chairman of WPSWP, Doug Schooling had the following to say in this regard. “To
play 6 team matches against great opposition will be a real test and a very
exciting opportunity for our schools players. Players will be nominated from
each province to attend the national camp in August from which trial teams will
be selected to take part in the final trials to be held at the conclusion of the
SACS Festival in Cape Town in September. The management and coaching staff will
be appointed soon and the teams selected in consultation with National Coach,
Brad Rowe.”
